Emberiza citrinella. Yellowhammer (male)
the most common "winter-bird" in our gardens.
often 10-20 birds together. The Yellowhammer is a robust 15.5-17cm long bird, with a thick seed-eater's bill. The male has a bright yellow head, yellow underparts, and a heavily streaked brown back. The female is much duller, and more streaked below.

Hi Ronny,
truly great, this composition and the fine soft colours. perfct also the pale sun and the out-of-focus background. Ver well done, Ronny.
Best regards
Dietrich

A solitary bird with a soft background. There's a sense of lonliness here, and I love the soft texture of the feathers, the pose, and well, the composition. Nicely done.
