Briksdal glacier
 |

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
A view on a little part of the Briksdalbreen (glacier) in Norway. The Briksdal is part of the Jostedalsbreen, with 475 km2 the largest glacier in Europe. On several places of the Jostedalsbreen the height is more than 2.000 m above sea level. In general, at these places, one is supposing that the ice cap reaches a thickness of more than 450 meters.
The Jostedalsbreen has 24 glacier tongues, and some of them are easy to reach.
Very well known is the route from Olden to Briksdal Restaurant (24 km). From there, a small path in an overwhelming nature, goes upwards via a mighty waterfall to Briksdalsbreen. This walk will take you in a small hour to this fantastic panorama. |

Hi Ruud,
For us in the Tropics, this is obviously a kind of unusual and very amazing landscape.
Thanks for sharing this great shot!
Ben Lakitan
Magnifique, impressionnant ces glaciers, superbes couleurs et très belle composition.
Merci
Marie
Hello Ruud,
Fine details have been captured in the glacier!
The ice is well exposed under varying light, and you reproduce well the typical bluish tones...
Greetings,

Beautifull pic, fantastic colours and very nice atmosphere, thanks for share,LUCIANO
Hoi Ruud,
Groeten,
Niek
Not easy to give depth to the ice, but your shot is well detailed with shadow and light. Water is well reflecting.
Wishes, Diana
