This long journey by you have surely been very exciting and I have enjoyed watching each and every picture of yours as much as you have enjoyed clicking, processing and posting. You really celebrate this occasion with a superb picture of this colourful and oozing tree trunk. Very neat and sharp image with nice colour tones and with great light and exposure management. Surprising to see that nothing much have changed from 1 to 200, hahaha. Excellent DOF, POV and composition. Kudos.

Simply terrific reproduction of the nice nature phenomenon, I am impressed with crisp sharpness of the image, amazing colour palette, great composition and framing (dark green BG on the left side is looked near the main subject perfectly). My compliments and TFS Well done.

I actually love the smell so much...I cannot get enough of it..and of course when bucking wood I got it all over...getting off the clothes is almost impossible but BUTTER..not margarine...will do it...off the hands that is...We never had enough money to wash our clothes in butter...

Hi Pablo!

With your 200th posting you offer us an interesting lesson about trees and their mode of operation. Text and picture are complementary, both highlight each other. As far as the technical side of the picture is concerned, I notice a slight over-sharpening, probably generated by the post processing. I know this is very personal and does not influence on the high value of the picture.

You mark the occasion with a fine capture of a the damaged trunk of a pine that together with the resin makes a fine colour palate in almost abstract composition with sharp lines.

A familiar sight for me, Pablo. In my native place in the mountains, we have all sorts of pine trees. When I was little boy, we used to use the dried resin of one species of pine as chewing gum :-)!
I like the colours and the overall composition you have created here.

Hi Pablo, a belated congratulations on #200. Good close detail and colour seen in this shot of resin. As a boy growing up, my exposure to resin was from climbing pine trees, and getting the resin all over my hands and clothes. It is certainly resilient.

this is an unusual pic. I like this shot because we are not used to see so close to trees and we can find marvelous things.
You have work with good details here, I can almost see a spider hanging??

Pablo,
When I was a little boy in Goa, India we had a HUGE forest behind our home. (Am still a little boy at heart though I'm 71 years of age now.) As a child I used to collect some types of resin to eat as candy; it was so good. It is not only used for varnishes & adhesives but also put in ladies hair spray. When the wood burns it gives out a lovely scent depending on the type of tree it is. Here in Canada we use a certain bark, for its resin, to "SMOKE" fish.
