Hi Niek,
Yes, global warming has at last become a sad fact of life in the minds of most people everywhere. I hope it is not too late to save some of our natural environment. It is hard to witness the negative effects to so many of Earth's creatures. Massive changes and die offs are not new to our planet but I don't want to witness it nor feel responsible for it.
I'm sorry you had such uncooperative weather for your trip that you planned a year for!. I hope it got better. Such light and weather often challenges us as landscape photographers especially when you can't just sit there and wait for better conditions.
I love the foreground in you image and wish there was more of it. The top two thirds of the shot are grays with flat light. The fore/mid ground has some color and nice shapes but the light is also pretty flat. I'm trying to figure out how to perk up such an image. (I have a lot of them too). Perhaps reversing it to two-thirds fore and mid ground and one third mountain with a little bit of sky. Just a thought. I'll play with it and might send you an experiment.

Hi Niek!
What a good combination of the dramatic sky and the cold mountains with the colorful flowers in the front! Hard expo managed pretty well, although I would try brightening the foreground a bit. Hope you don't mind I showed it in a ws. Maybe it does not reflect what you saw there at all but I thought I'd give it a try. Haven't done ws in a long time so please treat it that way :)
Anyway, the image is beautiful as you put all these things into balance with this fine composition! TFS!
Best regards,
Andor

Hello Niek,
Good clarity on the glacier valley even with this sort of weather, the fg flowers and the green adds a lot of interests towards this composition!
It's really sad to know the global warming that caused so much changes and demaged to our planet!
thanks for the sharing
take care and regards

beautiful landscape shot showing us the beauty in various layers here. the bush with the flowers, the land with the grass, the snow claded mountains and the sky full with clouds. liked the vertical composition and the framing very much,

Hi Niek,
That picture has Norway written all over it with the cool white and grey background and green lush vegetation in the foreground. I particularly how that small patch of flowers and water sneaks into the frame on the left. The colors are wonderfully rendered. Thanks for that.

Beautiful Norway captured well in tall frame. Must be interesting to be traveling up there Niek. I have always like the way you captured landscapes and this shot is just so pristine. The foreground little wild flowers balances well to the hills in the backdrop. The pasture in the middle ground simplify the image making this a top shelf stuff. Best regards. Jusni

Hi Niek!
Indeed, it's a pity to see all these glaciers retreating. It's terrific in my country, too. I have souvenirs from my childhood, and when I see the same glaciers now I'm sad...
But your picture also reflects the other Norwegian reality very well: the weather conditions! It's not always easy to get good light conditions. Last year, we had a lot of rain and clouds, too, but every day some great sunrays. You have taken the best advantage of this situation.
Kind regards
Markus

Hallo Niek,
Goed werk. Groeten Bob

Hi Niek,
a poignant shot, showing the Glacier carved valley now half empty of ice..alas it is happening all over the world now. I do like your POV here, and the details of the flowers in the FG and the colour they add too. I think Andor's workshop, where he lightened the foreground a touch has improved it slightly, as the scene was a a bit oppressive in my opinion.
It is a wonderful Alpine view though, and your excellent eye for framing a photo really shows here, very well done.
Paul
