Goldenrod Solidago virgaurea subsp. minuta - a mountain subspecies (sometimes treated as distinct species), altitudinal vicariant for typical Solidago virgaurea s. str. It grows on high mountains while typical subspecies in lowlands.
In transitional zone -- lower mountain elevations, where both taxa coexists together, transitional forms (hybrids) occurs.
