Description
Small moth from family Zygaenidae (Burnets). Maximum wingspan is 35 mm but usually it's about 30 mm. It's quite easy to identify this species: the spot at the edge of wings has a axe shape. No one Burnets is similar to this species.
The right one moth is quite special for me: all others Burnets I've seen have black wings but this moth is almost gold! I hope you'll like it.

Flying time
Whole Zygaenidae family are day-flaying moths. This species starts to fly the end of June and is still on the wings to the middle od August.

Caterpilar foodlplants
Coronilla varia L.
Hippocrepis comosa L.
Lotus corniculatus L.
Trifolium L.

More about this species you can find here.

greeting lou

Hello Chris,
thank you for your kind words about my picture, but "i really would take so many interesting species and so good as you"; wonderful picture of the Slender Scotch Burnet, very good sharpness and splendid colours, nice composition with a very beautiful BG.

Best regards

Witaj Krzysztofie
Swietne kolory ma ten motylek z krasnikowatych. Widzialam go tylko raz.
Gratuluje i pozdrawiam - Roma

Witaj Krzysztofie,

Hello again Chris,
An excellent capture of Z. minos, a very rare species in Sweden. The technical qualities and the composition are great and the capture of a bronze-coloured aberration is a special bonus!
Thanks for posting this one!
Regards,
Ivan
