Description:
One of small (max wingspan is about 25mm) but interesting Geometridae. Most part of them are on the wings in night but this one prefer light and Sun ;-)
You can find this species on meadows, rail&road borders, forest clearings, sunny slopes etc.
There are two generations in year: May-June and July-August. It's quite common but I think there are only few pictures of this species on TN. I hope you'll like this picture.

Wonderful shot of the small beautiful brown-white colored butterfly!

Hello Chris,
I think that tis species is rare on TN. You missed focus a little and wings aren't sharp perfectly but body and eyes are visible very well. Photo is nice.

Hi Chris,
geometrids can be beautiful, you prove it again with this great macro shot. You got it in activity too, which is much better than the geometrids sitting still with spread wings. Nervous critters they are, making it hard to capture them as you did.
