Well done! - I know how difficult it is to get close up shots of fungi in typical growing conditions and you have managed it here. The DOF problem might be solved by flash but I've rarely been satisfied with my own photos in conditions like these.

Lukasz, like the composition including the near & far in the shot. Your DOF could've been improved with the use of a larger F stop value if your camera has an aperture priority setting. Good notes on this. Thanx for posting!

tres interrant cette espece, tant au niveau des forme que des couleur !
j'aime beaucoup ta photo malgre le flou du premier plant ;)

Fantastic fungi you show, I see them here every year and the are fantastic. Your shot is good except for not using a higher F, to get more DOF. And with tripod you would not have problems...

All the advice and comments have been given by those before me and I wont go there. The only bit I can add is that because your subject is stationary, you can expose it for as long as you want using aperture priority. You can also drop your ISO as low as posible and this will reduce noice and increase quality.

The fungi reminds me of someones ear. I really like the compostion.

Thanks for posting

Very god effort in such a dark situation, I think most of the good advice has already been said especially from japie.
certainly with my Sony F707 with inbuilt flash I have found the following settings seem to work as a good starting point ISO 100, F8.0, 1/1000sec, rember to review and adjust as you go, even try turning the camera on its side or even upside down have worked for me. also I use single point metering of the light to set the shot it also seems to help with the auto focus that close.

Very interesting. I discover this Aleuria for the first time. Nice colors and good composition. I know it's not always easy to be on focus. I got a DSC-P71. *
