Hauhechel-Bläuling ( Modraszek Ikar)

Der Hauhechel-Bläuling (Polyommatus icarus) ist ein Schmetterling (Tagfalter) aus der Familie der Bläulinge (Lycaenidae). Innerhalb seiner Familie stellt er die häufigste und verbreitetste Art dar und wird daher auch als Gemeiner Bläuling bezeichnet.
Der Hauhechelbläuling ist 25 bis 30 Millimeter lang. Auch bei dieser Art findet man den bei Schmetterlingen häufigen Geschlechtsdimorphismus, das heißt Männchen und Weibchen sehen sehr unterschiedlich aus. Während Männchen oberseits ein kräftiges, leicht ins Violett gehende Blau zeigen, ist das Weibchen auf der Oberseite unauffälliger braun mit variablem Blauanteil.

Such a beautiful butterfly! You have captured it in some splendor! I like the pov and composition, and the background is perfect for highlighting the fine detail in the creature. I like the detail of the white hairs, especially beneath the wings, and the head. Lovely!
