Hello Jacob,
you show a perfect picture of the damselfly. In particular, I like the well reproduced wing surfaces
but also the sharp minute structures, suc as the short antennae and the 'spiny' legs.
Composition, colours and light are superb.
Best wishes, Peter

Great picture of this demoiselle. Splendid composition. Great sharpness, wonderful colours. The demoiselle stands out very well against the green blurred background.
Very well done,

Merhaba Jacob,
The chosen "Beautiful Wings" is an exquisitely beautiful specimen, your viewpoint simply perfect, the focus razor-sharp, the detail of the wings extraordinary, lighting and BG faultless and of course the resulting composition is very good.
Thank you for sharing this masterpiece with us.

Hello my friend
Another top quality macro shot from you!
Before talking a little about the damsel, i will first refer to the "so-called" overexposed leaf: i find it not disturbing at all. I don't even think it's that bright anyway... However, i can understand easily why it was captured like that - due to the high contrast with the main part of the scene - the darker damselfly. I've experienced the same scenario in my photos, too, and even if it is even brighter, i think it's a small price to pay for a good macro shot.
Now for the main subject:
The details are stunning - just as i would expect from you and that splendid lens that i am still craving for :)
The DOF is also spot-on and keeps the entire body, wings and head of the subject is perfect focus.
And because you mentioned the ecological niche of the species, although i haven't made a real study about this group of animals yet (i am still gathering data) i think i'm not wrong if i will say that both of them are quite common here and their niches overlap considerably. I found both of them in the same habitat numerous amounts of time.
Anyway, it's a wonderful post Jacob and i must congratulate you for it!
Bravo and TFS

Ciao Jacob,
Complimenti,
Marcello
Hello Jacob,
Excellent macro of our mutual demoiselle. The technical aspects and POV are superb.
I notice that this one has a bluer colour than mine, which is more greenish. I wonder if this has to do with age, the older they get, the bluer they become....
Best wishes, Ivan

Hi Jacob,
I marked this Demoiselle as a favorite. I don't have to give you the details why this picture is so excellent. The sharpness, the fine details, the metallic colors...
Best regards
Dietrich
