Carterocephalus palaemon - family Hesperiidae.

It's not a rare specie in Poland but I've never seen it before ;-)
It's one of the smallest butterflies - the wingspan is up to 30 mm. The butterflies preffers forest roads and forest borders but also it's possible to meet them on meadows or scrubs.

The butterflies are on the wings in May and June.

The caterpilars feeds on different types of grasses.

Hallo Chris, here the next 2 points for your palaemon picture which is similar in compostion as that of Coenonympha hero. I think that palaemon is rather shy ... nevertheless you produced a nice close-up.
