| Another picture from Eastern Poland: an adult Black Stork (Ciconia nigra). A shy forest dweller, in surprising contrast with the extremely common (and sometimes brutal) White Storks that can be found breeding in allmost every village with grasslands in the surrounding landscape in this part of Poland. This Black Stork flew up from the Bierbrza river in the early morning, on it's way back to a huge Alder forest, where it probably had young. |
