Intresting shot Marx the POV is good, the slightly below looking up gives us a good veiw of the body which is well exposed, the problem is that the resy is lost in the brightness of the over exposed suroundings, you could over come this I find by selecting single point lightmetering and in this case I would probably have metered off tether the white just under the body or on the nearest wing end, the andvantage of the 2nd method is to get the wing end in focus and dependant on the F number you have set the more will be infocus so F2.8 will mean less will be in focus from front to back and F8.0 will be a lot more. it is hard to advise you about this as you do not inclued the shooting data found in the exif data attached to every image taken in a digital camera.
the dragon fly is a female sympetrum / Darter type not sure which though it is posssibly Sympetrum sanguineum or Ruddy Darter
