Mysterious fungus
 |

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note [Polish] |
During the mushrooming I have found this interesting and mysterious fungus. It has grown in mixed forest, among blueberries, it looks like a golf-ball and it's diameter is about 12-15 mm, that is all I can say of it. Can anybody identify it?
28-07-2007 - Thanks Robert Brown ("robbrown") now I know that this is puff-ball named Lycoperdon echinatum, rather rare fungus in this part of Poland where I live. Many thanks, Robert! |

Hello Tadeusz !
This one grows in my contry too, I think it is some kind of Puffball but I don't know his exact name. But I'm not a fungi specialist and I'm not sure about it. Anyway, I like his shape. Maybe the picture is a bit over-exposed on some parts, but not a big problem for me, it is beautiful. I like your composition and your POV, and you have some nice details on your fungi. Well done !
Valerie.
Hi Tadeusz,
Great shot of such an unusual fungas.
Nice POV and BG.
Well Done and thanks for shareing
Jemima:)
I am of no help. Yet I am always safe when it comes to mushrooms. One can be unpleasantly surprised or perhaps visit a foreign world by ingesting the unknown in this fungus world eh? This is a particularly interesting fungi in geometry. I will also await it's identification...
Bob
Hi Tadeusz, It is definatly one of the Puffballs there are two it could possibly be 1) Spiny Puffball (Lycoperdon echinatum)
2) Dusky Puffball (Lycoperdon nigrescens)
the later is the most likely because it prefers acid soils which also Blueberries need to grow in.
hope this is of help?
yours Robert
bonjour
en voici encore une parfaite, bonne couleurs nettes, bravo et merci

Hello Tadeusz,
Thats a special one??? Great capture. Nice POV and BG. The clarity is overexposing the shadow of the fungi. Maybe you have to reduce it a little bit. Have a nice day. TFS Bob
