It's large magnification this moth. The stalk of grass you see very wide. When you look from far then this pattern isn't visible. They avoiding of light conceal in grass and hard well photograph.

Czesc Pawel!

Hello Pawel,
This is a fine frame-filling close portrait of a Geometridae moth: it is Xanthorhoe quadrifasciata.
The sharpness and composition are excellent.
TFS this beauty,
Ivan

Hello Pawel,
I love the colours of this Moth and your capture is really excellent. Good light showing the fine pattern and details and a fine contrasting background. Well done!
TFS and have a nice weekend!, Ulla

Hi Pawel, wonderfull pic,i know how isn't easy to take so perfectly this moths always in a shadow, very goos colors and sharpenss, thanks for share, have a nice week end,Luciano

Witam Pawle!
Masz racje, to miernikowiec (Geometridae), jak dla mnie jest to Scotopteryx chenopodiata, a nie jak sugeruje Ivan - Xanthorhoe quadrifasciata.
Pozdrawiam serdecznie,
Radek

Dear Pawel,
a very good job to get this very close approach to one of those rather wary and shy day-active geometridoe moths under low light conditions. I like its rich details and the well saturated natural colours.
With more than 800 species of Geometridae having been described from Europe alone, it often can be a hard job to find an ID. Telling from a look into Chris Jonko's butterfly database "www.lepidoptera.pl", I agree with our friend Radek that you have shown

"Scotopteryx chenopodiata"
Paśnik komosiak
Shaded Broad-bar

very well shown here.
With thanks, and best regards,
Peter
