Silver washed fritillary - Argynnis paphia - Male
Female is here
Family: Nymphalidae
Flight Time: June - August
Size: 54-70mm
Altitude: 0-1500m
This is a majestic insect, the true aristocrat among the fritillaries. Although reasonably common in woodland throughout Europe, it is always arresting, commanding attention as it swoops and soars along rides or feeds on nectar sources. |

Hello Marx,
Very fine protrait of this Fritillary, with excellent colours and details. My personal preference would be for a slightly wider crop, with a little more BG, but thanks for posting.
