[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A wasp photograph taken in natural habitat. I'm not sure about the species, because Vespa vulgaris is social insect and this one was rather loner- taking care of this small nest alone, flying around to nerby cherry tree. Quite strange because I didn't see any form of life inside the nest , but that wasp cool down it with her wings all the time.. maybe just the eggs was inside?

Location: near Czos lake, next to Troszczykowo village.
Photo taken in RAF format, with macro lens Raynox DCR-250, nwithout tripod.
It was very strong sunlight so I used some tools in Photoshop to show more details, also NeatImage to remove noise.

Classification:

Kingdom- Animalia (Animals)
Phylum- Arthropoda (Arthropods)
Class- Insecta (Insects)
Order- Hymenoptera
Superfamily- Vespoidea

Superb 'close encounter' here, Adrian.
A very sharp and colourful macro of the solitary wasp strddling its nest.
I have also seen these wasps working by themselves.
Well done and TFS.

Hello Adrian,
Superb macro of a queen wasp tending her nest. The sharpness, lighting and composition are great, as is the POV that shows the details of the head very well.
I have read your personal intro and have to agree that unfortunately you are right about the future of life on this planet.
I am old, bu if you in your generation can do something to protest about the greed, waste, destruction of habitats and total disregard for the wildlife of our planet in favour of jobs. You might still have a chance of saving some of it for future generations. It is not just about the carbon problem!
Thanks,
Best regards, Ivan

Hello Adrian,
the view is spectacular and your result is admirable.
The focus plane is well selected and the light is well balanced so that you achieve
a nice 3D-effect. Shaprness is pretty good and the colours are natural and pleasant.
Best wishes, Peter

Hi Adrian, splendid portrait with amazing details and great sharpness, very well done, ciao Silvio

This sure is a good close up. They look like aliens when viewed so close.
I call these long one hornets.
Good focus and light situation.
