What an incredible macro - and the title is fitting. The background lighting seems to help illuminate this subject. I love seeing the tiny legs and antennas. Also, I can see the small details of what appear to be pinchers (on other insects - I'm not saying that's what they are), so that's pretty amazing.

Bugs are interesting, but with all my allergies, I tend to be cautious of them. I like this though and the out of focus BG blurs some unusual colors together, melding into a seemless backdrop and highlights the main portion of the insect. Overall, nice composition.

Hello Marx,
I think you might have captured a species of click beetle here, going by the shape of the anerior part of the head/thorax.I may be wrong, but you might find it if you do a Google image search under 'click beetle'.
Its a great photo in any case.
Cheers
Steve

Hi Marx,
this is a very successful portrait of the Elaterid Adelocera murina, Marx. Nice, the composition with the grass leaf and the animal "coming out of the dark"! The beetle's mottled grey surface and the two dells with the associated spines on the prothorax tell the species apart.
Best regards
Dietrich
