Very nicely seen. Much better than the ones I was just looking at in my wildflower id book. I could not find ID for my post today, unusual for me...Usually I am at very wrong...wrong!:-) I remember these well as a child and now see them once in a while....usually in gardens...but they do grow wild in the Palouse as well...Good depth of field here...Very nice image. You should send it to the book people...they need it I can tell you that.

Fine portrait of the flower of Viola tricolor, that we in Swedish call Mother-in-law's violet, I don't know why!
I like how you have isolated the violet with good focusing and sharpness against an OOF natural BG.

I've tried my hand at some small flowers recently as well. I think the best light is early to mid-morning, with the light from the side.

Hello Krzysz,
This is one of my favourite wild flowers - it seems to thrive on a speck of dust and is quite common on rocks and sand here. Excellent sharp capture in beautiful light and the colours are lovely! Very well composed too!

Fajne zdjęcie. Bardzo podobają mi się kolory - są ciepłe, jasne, ale nie rażące. Dobra kompozycja z kwiatkiem nie w samym centrum. No i bardzo dobra głębia ostrości, tak, że widać nawet pyłek na płatkach, a jednocześnie tło jest rozmyte i jednolite. Dobra robota.
