[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Today's photo from Garden of Shadows. California style modern family, no offence :-)

Fungi are like snails - they have some kind of cloacking device and are almost invisible most of time. Every fungus is like beacon repeating message 'you don't see me, go away!'. I didn't saw these group of fungi when I walked nearby for first time. I didn't saw them second time, too. Third time I spotted them by accident - I saw interesting beetle and started to take photos of it then I suddenly spotted quite large fungi two meters from my lens :-)

This group are probably Coprinellus domesticus, specie which Laszlo posted few days ago for first time on TN. So looks like this is second picture of this fungus here :-)

Hello Grzegorz,
Amazing light and details on this kind family! The texture of the fungi and the colourful background are very well captured. Best regards,

Hello Greg,
An excellent capture of these beautiful Coprinuses.
Perfect exposure,amazing detail,great compo.
I know what you mean by cloaking devices.
Coprinus and Mycenae seem to hide best.
No problem finding the bright blue ones though.

Hello Grzegorz
Nice capture with beautiful composition and excellent details. Best Regards

Hi Grzeg,

Beautiful photo and interesting note - what You wrote is absolutely real, I also overlooked such a bunch of Coprinus species a few days ago for first. :)

You're almost right in the ID specification, very closed, but not totally - this is without doubt a specie from the Micacei section of Coprinellus genus, but surely not Coprinellus domesticus (Bolton) Vilgalys, Hopple & Jacq. Johnson, that specie has much more conical cap, even in young age, a bit different cap texture and doesn't grow in bigger colonies, with the fruitbodies so closed to each other as on Your photo. This is very probably Coprinellus truncorum (Scop.) Redhead, Vilgalys & Moncalvo, another very common coprinoid specie (I also saw and photographed it yesterday, so I'm more or less sure about my ID specification).

Off: I answered to Your comment here, listed the species I ever found in Népkert, but unfortunately I forgot Lepista personata, which I found a wonderful specimen from in the last autumn. Plus, a few days ago I detected not less than 4 species which were new to me in the park: Inocybe rimosa, Psathyrella marcescibilis, Schizopora paradoxa and Xerula radicata. So, the 30 species I wrote about is absolutely real now. :)

Tfs, friendly regards from Wegry, Wladyslaw

Hy Greg

witaj Grzegorzu,
Kadr ciasny, ale bardzo ładnie poukładany. Grzybki wyrastały szybko z gleby o czym świadczą drobiny piasku na pieknie wybarwionych kapelusikach. Podoba mi się zewnetrzna faktura tych kapeluszy. Ładne barwy, ładne światło i bardzo dobra jakośc.
Pozdrawiam serdecznie,
Jurek

Bardzo ładne grzyby. Kompozycja jest bez zarzutu jak i kolory i ostrość.
Ładnie rozmyty drugi plan.
Serdeczności
