[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Picture from todays walk in Botanic Garden. Meeting with this butterfly was big surprise for me - I saw this specie for first time in my life and I was also surprised by its small size - it looks like bigger butterflies from Lycaenidae family. Today was good day for photography - clear sky and I had much free time :-) I saw two new species of butterflies (which means that I identyfied 40 different species in The Garden), few spiders with prey and our biggest robberfly which I'll post soon.

As Krzysiek wrote - this is Boloria dia, butterfly from subfamily Heliconiinae. It is cousin of Silver-washed Fritillary which I posted earlier, but much smaller.

Hi Greg. It sounds like you had a great day in the gardens. And this making 40 species from there. You were able to take a fine close up from the side view. Which has given us a good view of the markings . taken with sharp focusimg and natural colours. Well done TFs.

A very fine macro of Boloria dia, even though it is a worn specimen. The closed wings are shown with excellent sharpness and lighting in this full-frame image.
