The parasol mushroom (Macrolepiota procera)is large and familiar fungus, solitary or in small groups. Cap is pale buff and marked with brown scales; egg-shaped when young but flattens with age. It can be found in light forests, on forest edges, on meadows; widespread. It can have several fruitings during the season, which starts in late summer to ends in late autumn. Usually clean and insect free.

I love the image! It has a strange wood like finish that I find interesting. Great shot!

Good shot from this mushroom. I like a lot to eat this mushroom. You can cooking "macrolepiota procera cordon blue", is easy, and very good.
