The parasol mushroom (Macrolepiota procera)
is a basidiomycete fungus with a large, prominent fruiting body resembling a lady's parasol. It is a fairly common species on well-drained soils. It is found solitary or in groups and fairy rings in pastures and occasionally in woodland. Globally, it is widespread in temperate regions.
It is a very sought after and popular fungus in Europe, due in part to its large size, seasonal frequency and versatility in the kitchen.

hi roma,
very good viewpoint to show this mushroom against the sky with those grass bladed beautifuly positioned. the main subject could have been kept to either side than at the centre for better composition. great work. tfs.

Witaj Roma,
Pozdrawiam z deszczowego i wietrznego Białegostoku

Hi Romuszka,
nicely dramatic capture of the parasol, one of my favourite mushrooms - creatively seen! I can't resist taking a parasol with me to prepare a meal of it I have to confess.
On your picture, I love to see that mighty mushroom sticking out against the sky like a skyscraper. Sometimes, it pays to get down on your knees.
With thanks, and best regards,
Peter

P.S.: An honour for me to find myself added to your our favorites. Thank you!

Roma-

How could I have missed this great shot before? The low POV is wonderful and different. I've shot strawberries like this and it seems very strange at first- something so close to the ground should not have the sky as background! But it worked for my strawberries and it definitely works for this mushroom. Well done.

Best regards,
Bob
