After winter series something from summer :)
In the picture you can see the larvae of Palomena prasina (green shield bug) (odorek zieleniak in Polish). It is walking on the leaf of wild mint growing on the river bank.
Regnum: Animalia
Phylum: Arthropoda
Classis: Insecta
Ordo: Heteroptera
Familia: Pentatomidae (Tarczówkowate).
My determinations is at the basis of some other pictures from internet so if I'm wrong let me know.
The polish name of the insect comes from the ugly smell that it produce (many other representatives of heteroptera do it as well).
The insect during summer is green and it becomes brown as the autumn comes. It overwinters in adult stage. In the picture there is larvae as it has shortened wings. Green shield bugs feed on the leaves and fruits of raspberry.
The picture was cropped, then I've changed levels and sharpen it. |
