Hello
Today I want to present you Map butterfly (Araschnia levana, Rusałka kratkowiec).
It occurs between April and September in open woodland. Map butterfly can have 2 or 3 broods during the year. The very interesting thing is that spring and summer individuals differ a lot in the pattern and colour of wings.
The larvas feed on nettles. (Data from Michael Chinery "Insects of Britain and Western Europe").

In the picture you can see rather "tired" individual as the colours of the wings are not so saturated. And tommorow I will show you what happened to this butterfly after one day.

The picture was cropped, changed levels, sharpened. I also used Neat image to remove the noise.
I hope you'll like it.
Ania

Hello Ania,
a well-composed picture showing the beauty and also the lesions of this 'old' A. levana. In combination with the pleasant colours, this makes the picture very natural - that's what I like! Focus, sharpness and depth of field are prefect.
Best wishes, Peter

Czesc Aniu!

Bardzo ladny portret jesiennej odmiany rusalki. Faktycznie, model zmeczony zyciem :-) Ladne detale, klasyczna kompozycja, rozmyte tlo tez pasuje.

Quite nice sharpness and good DOF. TFS

I see I have missed a few recent photos by you.
The colours on this are wonderful.I also like the way you have your point of view with that leaf going on an angle.
TFS.
Best wishes.

Hej Aniu!
Milo slyszec tez, ze Collins sie przydaje.
Pozdrawiam,
Radek

Hello Ania,
I'm sorry to have overlooked this capture! I love your composition and the colours of the butterfly look lovely against the green background. It's a bit worn but the details are very sharp. Well done!
TFS and best wishes, Ulla

i like a lot the butterflies pics, this is very very perfect,a kind work for a beautifull butterfly, have a nice day,Luciano

Witaj Aniu
