Hi Ania,
As a matter of fact, I liked your workshop image better because it shows the complete slug, giving a clear impression of this rare species I have seen for the first time. I think all of us on TN will benefit from this post.
Your main image is also very good, focusing a little off the eyes on stems.
The blue colour and even the textures on the slug's body are quite interesting.

This is a very unique image Ania! Never have I seen a blue one.
I do prefer your cropped one, but appreciate you posting the workshop.

Bella macro, molto bella e interessante la composizione, molto buona la nitidezza nella zona a fuoco, le antenne sono fuori fuoco potresti avere una maggiore DOF con un diaframma più chiuso visto l'uso del flash. Grazie e complimenti. Ciao Maurizio

This is a perfect macro capture of a beautiful slug in its prime Ania, the choice of the fill-in flash homogenously illuminated the specimen and nicely demonstrated the blue iridescence of the skin. However I do not think a 1/500 sec. was necessary, a smaller aperture, say an f/11-16 with a slower exp. time might render the eye-tentacles perfectly sharp with the rest of the body.

What an interesting slug you're presenting here! I really like the full size picture in the workshop! Incredible colours and a beautiful pattern - I didn't know there were blue slugs! Good sharpness and very well presented.

Wonderful shot of this great looking Slug. Lovely blue colour and the sticky body looks fabulous. Good use of flash lighting and a fine low POV to portray it. Very nicely composed. Kudos.

Welcome to the macro-world and what an entrance. this is a really nice macro shot with nnice dept of field and as I can see you must have been allmost down on your knees to get this point of view.The colours look great - first I thought that it was a fake of porcelain or plastic but then I read your note and found that it was real. The flash did a great job here and as you will find out it is a good thing when shooting macros.
