Sloe Bug Dolycoris baccarum
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| Dolycoris baccarum. A 12 mm long shieldbug covered in fine, erect, hairs. The antennae have alternate dark and pale bands.Widespread in southern Britain, but extremely local in the north. The Sloe Bug is entirely restricted to dry, coastal, grassland and scrub in Cumbria. These bugs are thought to feed on various herbaceous plants but have also been found on different shrubs on occasion. The name Sloe Bug is taken from its local name in Sussex (Butler 1924) but there does not appear to be any particular association with this shrub. |

Hi Pawel.
Many thanks for nice comments.
I like your extreme close-up picture of a very small bug. With your lens (even plus TC) it is so difficult task. However, details and sharpness of the main subject are great (DOF is selected perfectly). It is clear colours and exposure are superb. Absolutely smooth neutrally coloured BG is supplements the colourful scene excellently. My best wishes and TFS.
Alexei.

Hello Pawel,
Very nice Pentatomidae sp. Colours and DOF are excellent. It is not the Dolycoris baccarum. The protonum of your species is larger than those of the D. baccarum. The colours are also different. Maybe it is a Carpocoris... I'm not sure. Best regards,
Catherine
Hi Pawel,
Very good macro shot with nice dof and BG.
I think you have dirt on your sensor!
