[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Yes, king is dead! Maybe not exactly - my old, good Sigma lens is dead. I hope for short time only. It broke this Saturday, so I sended it to service shop. Today I grab my son and Tokina lens and went to Botanic Garden. It is very difficult to take good macro photos with almost two years very lively boy :-) But Tokina won! I took few quite good photos and I can shout - Long live new king!

This is hoverfly. I don't know what exact specie it is and I'm too tired to search its name now. I'll do it next time. This is first syrphidea on my 2009 list. Maybe few of you remember that I promissed to take photos of syrphidae and lycaenidae this year :-)

Background is very poor and there are few OE areas because of strong flashlight. But this is my first quite good photo of h-fly in flight so I'm rather happy with result.

Hi Greg, You will have to soon start showing the young man how to take pictures. This is a very close side view of this Hoverfly. Good detail and natural colours. Well done TFS.
Nick..

PS i hope the sigma is ok.

Wonderful action shot, there are few things that could have been improved , please see my WS

Hi Greg,
A nice capture of this hover fly inflight. A bit OE but I think Goutham has solved it with PP. Very good timing and details. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Hello Greg !
Even if you had to manage a lively 2-year-old boy at the same time as your camera, the result is amazing. You froze the hoverfly in a great pose, with such excellent details, and the tiny over-exposed part are not diturbing at all, for me. Your timing was perfect. Excellent composition, too, and BG is not so bad as you say - it is blurred enough to makes the insect stand out, with nothing to distract us from the main subject. Very well done !
Valérie.
