Sorry, I can't help with the ID. Maybe in the family of the chrysops. But this photo looks very beautiful. Through the white BG the fly stands out very good. Excellent colours, sharpness and composition.

I think it is Volucella pellucens - but Leucozona lucorum is a very similar species. A good shot if a little dark - perhaps you could have used ISO 200 or 400?

Hi Pawel. I would go along with Vinny on this one and say its the Volucella pellucens . Because thee eyes have a larger space between them . This is much smaller in the Leucozona lucorum . You have taken a fine close up of this insect with good detail and natural colours. Well done TFS.
