Araneus quadratus once more.

This is one of my favourite spiders. There's plenty of them in my region therefore they are very often subjects of my pictures.

I like them especially because they're very easy to find. You just can't not to notice their big webs hanging everywhere on any meadow with high vegetation.
The females of this spiders are very big and therefore there's not much trouble with taking pictures of them. They are not very shy either.
Besides they are really nice creatures and I think, one of the most colourful Polish spiders. Their body colouration can be extremely variable, so you can find spiders from bright green to dark brown.

As I said some time ago I especially like the dark forms, mostly because they are not so easy to find as the bright ones. This is also the reason I like the orange ones. I saw them only few times and they seem to be even more rare than the dark browns.

The picture have been taken in my garden. The spider had it's web on the Cedar tree. It's another example of my favourite way of photographing spiders: low angle that brings the blue sky in BG.

Hi Monika,
Excellent macro. I thought from the thumbnail and the title it was some kind of orange tree :) Excellent colours and detail, nice POV to use the blue sky as a background. Great shot.

Hi Monika!

He, he, is it tasty? I love this title - very poetical ;-) Beautifull, blue sky and perfect composition. Static image but full of action - spider looks like testing durability of this grass' stalk. Good for sad, winter day.

This is great Monika, excellent low pov. She's certainly large!
Superb colours and exposure. Summer is coming, yay!
Thanks for posting.

Hello Monika,

A year ago, I would never have said this: Great capture of this amazing spider!

I had a similar one living at my house (outside) all last summer, it was pretty cool.

Wonderful details, nice bright exposure, colors, BG, and excellent pov.

Thank you for sharing it with us!

Have a great weekend!

Wow, what a surprise to open up your photo! I really expected to see some fruit, but definitely not this huge spider !
Very nice and unusual pose how she hangs down from this branch, its big belly being exposed while it would normally prefer hiding in her retreat.
This photo, as all of your photos, is really outstanding and technically perfect, so its hard to write critics :-) , Patrick

Excellent detail on this wonderful macro closeup of this cool looking spider. :)
