The last day of the year 2005.
It started to snow so heavily that the branches of many trees and bushes were overwhelmed with the weight.
Still it looked very pictoresque.

I agree that snow can often make an ordinary scene look magical. Snow can be difficult to photograph and is something I have been working on myself. A problem I have with this image is that it doesn't really have a focal point. There is a lot of white in it that is the exact same value: sky, snowy ground, & snow on the trees. In some places one can't tell where one starts and other leaves off. The darks are pretty much scattered all over the image. I think one has to choose the background carefully so that some of those really interesting shapes are better showcased. TFS
