[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hello my Friends!

Good news! Finally we moved to new flat with all our furniture and thousands of books and other things. We're really exhaused. Now I believe to spend much more time with my cam and with my dear TN's friends.

This morning I went to Botanic Garden. Weather was great [but only for me :-)] - gray sky and rain. I love walks during rain. Why? Two reasons - everything smells great and there is no people with crying babes etc. So I walked in The Garden, alone. Fresh leaves, flowers, singing birds. And hundreds of slugs and snails. Isn't nature beautifull? I took many pictures of these underestimated creatures. Only I, them and sound of rain. I had great time, really.

BTW this is one of Cepaea hortensis.

And now, time for rest. I hope tomorrow I'll find time to enjoy and critique your pictures.

Sounds like you had a magic time in the garden this morning, Grzegorz. I like this shot very much. As you said, these "lowly" snails are quite beautiful when you bend down low enough to really see them. Fantastic sharpness and exposure, such fine details and colors. I particularly like the texture that you were able to capture on the body/foot part. TFS. : )

I love snails ! These little creatures are everywhere in the garden when it rains, unfortunately they destroy the plants I'm trying to grow ! :-) Good sharpness and details, nice colors and nice composition, very well done ! You wrote a wonderful note, too.

What a nice composition that you have well done ! Good exposure. I like the texture of bark. Congratulations Greg and thanks for sharing.

PS : good news for you flat my friend ! I read that you don't like baby crying :-))

The probability is higher that this would be Cepaea nemoralis.

Both species are yellow, pink or brown.
Both species have 5 bands per spirale. Each band can be missing.
Their share the same habitat.
Grove Snail is larger than White lipped Snail when mature.
Generally dark lip for the grove snail and white lip for the white lipped snail.
The shell gives probability but no definite ID. Their identities can be confirmed only by dissection.

Maybe picture a little bit too dark on my screen.
