The ladybird is less than 1.2 cm in maximum length. It has a nearly hemispherical body, rounded above and flat below, a small head, and short legs. Ladybirds are often red or orange above, spotted with black, white, or yellow. Some species are black, with or without spots. The larvae are also often brilliantly coloured. Some are blue with orange or black markings.

Ladybirds have had their name since the Middle Ages, when people looked upon them as a gift from the Virgin Mary because of their habit, as both larvae and adults, of feeding on aphids and other agricultural pests. Farmers deliberately release ladybirds to protect crops from insect damage.

Hi Koleta,
You have good overall sharpness, detail, color, and light in this shot. The tree barks texture and detail is well seen, and dominates the frame, making the ladybird seem very small :) An interesting composition. Still, I might have moved the laybird out of the extreme corner a bit..
