Large cooper
(Lycaena dispar)
The species occurs in the whole area of the country and is common. Its preferred habitats are riverside and lakeside areas, mostly wet meadows; it is found also in dry habitats, as a result of the adaptation of its caterpillars to foraging on Rumex species. It may be threatened due to intensification of the use of meadows. Conservation measures should focus on the maintenance of its breeding habitat in the appropriate state. It is protected by law in Poland.

Excellent macro, an unusual composition to not include the wings but it works very well, a very creative approach that has good impact. Excellent detail, great colours, wonderful warm defocused background. Beautifully framed, a great shot.

A x10 macro in this lens must be difficult to manage, and you did nicely here.

Motyl ten nie jest aż tak pospolity jak mówisz ;-)
Jest chroniony w Polsce i w wielu innych krajach Europejskich. Ja z reguły kadruję tak, żeby cały motyl był widoczny ale to kwestia gustu ;-D
