Arbusto endémico do Arquipélago da Madeira é o Echium candicans, mais conhecido por Massaroco.
Este arbusto tem como altura máxima 3m. É constituído por flores de um azul-arrocheado e o seu habitat é a Laurissilva. É uma planta de grande valor ornamental chegando até a ser referido em textos e livros sobre jardinagem.
O seu nome em inglês é "pride of Madeira" – "orgulho da Madeira".

Fotografia tomada na zona alta do Funchal, não sendo portanto cultivada em jardim particular, embora seja muito utilizada em parques e jardins públicos.
