[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
My hobby are butterflies and odonatas...but this "three afair" catch may atention.
So, I think the "yellow" one is asking for itself: "When is my turn? Can you hurry up?"

This insect is Eurydema oleraceum (Linnaeus, 1758).
Known as "Cabbage bug" in english.

The adult can reach 5-7 mm long with black head and body black with bluish or greenish metallic sheen.
The head and pronotum are yellow bordered and dorsally with yellowish or reddish spots.

The eggs are small barrel-shape with 2 flattened poles, yellow greenish in colour and operculum uniformly whitish.

The nymph is black after hatching and during the first instar. After each moult the nymphal instars resemble the adult with yellowish or reddish spots becoming more evident.

The host plants are cultivated or wild cabbages (Cruciferae) and, less frequent, some gramineous and potato plants.

The adult life span of a few months. Fecundity 50-80 eggs during 5-7 oviposition periods.

The eggs incubation period about 15 days. Eggs are laid on the underside of cabbage leaves in two rows of 8-12 eggs at each oviposition. These ovipositions can be repeated 5-7 times during the female's life.

The nymph from the egg hatch to the adult emergence takes 4-5 weeks and includes 4-5 moults.

They have two generations per year with the first generation of adults in June or July and the second from the end of August to October.

Adults hibernate on the soil under stones or old leaves and in cracks or crevices in the soil and on trees. Adult activity starts as soon as temperatures rise. They mate and oviposition takes place 2-4 weeks later.

These insects by sucking sap from leaves causes damaged areas to become yellowish. Severe attacks can cause all leaves and pods to turn yellow and may lead to the death of young plants.

well captured - these three bugs.
The species is
-- Eurydema oleraceum -- (family Pentatomidae).
Among the recent postings, there is a nice picture of another Eurydema species (ornatum) presented by Filipe 'firelord'.

The pale leaf looks very good against the strong markings and colours of bugs, but I might have slightly increased saturation of colours all over the image.

Funny scene. Brilliant colors. proper DOF. More cropping would have been a little beter, but I'm under the impression that the pic is not detailed enough for that.

Não consigo resistir à tentação de comentar que isto me faz lembrar os namoros à moda antiga em que o irmão ou irmã mais novo/a era sempre enviado para acompanhar o jovem casal de namorados afim de não haver qualquer possibilidade...e quando se casavam...o descendente já ía na barriguinha :D
