[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a beautiful butterlfy, also common in Portugal.
The Euphydryas aurinia is known as Marsh Fritillary in english. In Portugal doesn't have a common name.
It flys from spring to earlier summer.
Their larvas feeds on scabiosa, succisa, knautia and cephalaria.
It belongs to the Nymphalidae Melitaeinae family.
In my country, we can see the adult insect (the butterfly) feeding on the lavendula's polen.
It's a protected species in Portugal.

Another beautiful shot. You are lucky to have many butterflies in your region. Here we still have but the weather is too windy, so always are moving.
Nice colors. Did you use neat image against the noise?

Very nice macro, Paulo.
Good details and well composed.
WEll done.

Belle photo, la couleur orange de ce papillon est magnifique.

Nice butterfly, beautiful colors and sharpness.

Helo Paulo!
What a great shot! So colorful, so elegant, so interesting - just beautiful!

Hello Paulo, This has great light, colors and details..Perhaps a smaller aperture would have improved your DOF here. Well done.

A beauty indeed.
Excellent capture and well done on the composition.

Paulo, talvez, um pouco mais de nitidez no Photoshop seria recomendável, mas isso é somente uma opinião.

No mais, bela foto. Cores vívidas e ótimo enquadramento para nos mostrar esta bela borboleta.

Very sharp details on that beautiful butterfly, Paulo. Gorgeous colors and patterns. Excellent composition. Well done and TFS. : )

Wow, how could I miss this one ?.. That's a beauty, an excellent composition, with so vivid colors. Details are beautiful. Thank you for sharing all your wonderful portuguese butterflies, Paulo !

Hi Paulo. If I had a closer look to your gallery I would have needed to ask for confirmation about the id of my post :D
I could read on you profile that you are specialits about butterflies, so I will ask you if I need some id, if you dont mind. We are quite near, so sure we have more common species. This shot is very beautiful, in fact the colour is more natural than in my shot, the real one looks more like the one in your picture :D
