|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This is a common species in my country, Portugal.
It flies from April to September till 1400 meters of altitude.
It likes to rest over rocks, warming at the sunlight.
The female is bigger and less dark then the male.
It reaches the 44-50 mm wide wings.
Their larva hibernates and has a green or brown colour with black strips.
They feed on gramineae like: Avenula gervasii, Bromus unioloides, Brachpodium phoenicoides, Festuca ovina, etc.
This species prefers hot weather and open spaces to fly. |
