Back from the trip to Portugal:

I saw and shot my first Algerian sandrunner (Reptilia; Lacertidae; Psammodromus algirus Algerischer Sandläufer near Vila Nova de Foz Côa/ Portugal (see Map:View for details). And now I found out that this is a quite common lizard on the Iberian peninsula and in Northern Africa. You may notice the keeled scales and the bright longitudinal bands.

Hello Dietrich,
Excellent composition with a nice pose of this lizard, with a good sharpness. It has very long fingers! Best regards,
Catherine

Hello Dietrich,

Hi Dietrich,

Excellent detail and sharpness in the lizard, an attractive little beast. I hope you also got some shots featuring the purple-flowered Oxalis in the foreground too, looks interesting.

Hello Dietrich
As I’m just back from a trip to see my son and two grand-daughters my critiques replies are delayed.
An excellent capture of an Algerian Sand Lizard, that judging by the size of the head compared to the body, looks like it might be a female. Interesting to see the hole of a trapdoor spider behind her.
