[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Captured this butterfly years ago in Portugal on a rocky hill close to the border of Spain. Never really got the right ID. I think it's (Queen of Spain Fritillary - Issoria lathonia), but I am for sure of that. Maybe someone knows?

Great work and TFS,

Hoi Jacob,
Zelf ben ik geen vlinderspecialist dus ik kan je niet helpen. Wat ik wel zie zijn prachtige kleuren, en een erg mooi gedetailleerd foto van deze vlinder. Goed ingekaderd, mooie plaat.
Groet, Ruud

Hi Jacob

A very beautiful butterfly you managed to capture here!
The POV and timing here are impeccable, catching it with its wings wide opened.
Also the exposure is spot-on and that gave you these charming colors and tones. Very nice sharp details and an all-in-all lovely composition.

Bravo and TFS

Hello Jacob,
Issoria lathonia, the "Kleine paarlemoervlinder", or - well fittingly named for the location of this observation - the "Queen of Spain Fritillary", well captured, clear, sharp, well imbedded in its rocky habitat.
With thanks, and best regards,
Peter

Nice detail, like how the macro takes full frame, well done.

Greg
