[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Eurasian Nuthatch (Sitta europaea) is well known for its ability to climb trees head up or down. The bird moves with the same ease on ground.

I was in a pine forest, in a shiny day. Light and shadows were mixing on forest ground. After a little while I had the chance to meet one bird that was looking for food on the ground, near me. Nuthatch was picking something from the ground then flew back on the tree. After a time bird was coming back to look for food on the ground.

All the time, while searching the area, the bird stood only in the shadow. It never crosses the lighted areas. Therefore I had to use a higher ISO and got a higher noise level.

This Nuthatch blends so well with the background of pine needles, Cris.
A very fine angle of exposure, showing the fine colours and patterns on the bird's plumage.
Well done and TFS.

Salut Cristian
O poza frumoasa, dar cred ca lumina dezavantajeaza putin.
Numai bine

Hello Cristian,
Very good exposure and focus in capturing this lovely Nuthatch!
superb sharpness, real colouration and so much details to enjoy with the informative notes.
Best regards Siggi

Hi Cristian,
a beautiful unusual capture of Sitta europaea taken from a good low POV, i like the pose of the cute bird and the not easy exposure against a good natural BG.
TFS. Best regards.
Maurizio

Hi Cristian,
A nice capture of this Eurasian nuthatch. Sharp details and a good composition. But I think it is a bit dark. Anyway Razvan has done a WS which looks pretty fine. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Hi Cristian,
This reminds me of your other post "Trusting Camouflage", shot on the forest floor in subdued light.
Great POV and pose, well composed with good colors.
Well done,
Howard

Hello Cristian,
Good composed only BG is patchy and disturb a little. I've also posted this species only I entice him with seeds of sunflower in front my window.
Regards, Pawel

salut Cristian ,
o fotografie foarte reusita cu acest scortar ( vazut destul de rar pe sol ), culorile sunt naturale , frumoase , iar detaliile clare , pacat, cum a zis si Razvan , ca lumina nu e foarte buna ,
felicitari!

Hello Cristian,
Another fine capture of a European Nuthatch, not so often seen on the ground. A great composition among the dead pine needles and fine POV taken with good sharpness with very little noise IMHO.
Thanks for sharing this delight,
Have a good weekend,
Ivan

Hello Cristian !
Ah, I see you have one of those beauties too ! I love his pose here, it's not the usual pose, but he looks very attentive, and I also love the way he is camouflages on the ground. If he doesn't move, it must be hard to see him - well, to be honest, the next picture I will post is almost exactly the same one as this, just the POV is different. It's also nice, here, to see the natural environment where you found the bird. Very well done !
Valerie.

Hello Cristian

This cute little bird is similar to our Red-breasted Nuthatch Sitta canadensis.
Excellent low POV,showing very good detail.
Well composed in the frame.
The pine needles give a good reference for size.
