[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Eurasian treecreeper (Certhia familiarias) is an insect hunter searching them on the old trees. The bird is climbing vertically on tree trunks helped by the tail and longer hind toes. There are these longer hind toes that distinguish C. familiaris from its relative C. brachydactila . After reaching the top of the tree the treecreeper flies down to the base of the next tree and begins again circling the bark.

Pairs start nesting in spring and the hen is incubating the eggs, mainly on her own, for two weeks. After a similar period of time young birds are fully fledged.

This bird can be found in much of northern Europe, except for the far north of Scandinavia. Sporadically it can be found in France and northern Spain. It is not present in northern Africa but extends into Asia.

There is a certain time since I wish to take a decent photo of this bird. I was sitting quite near a willow tree bird was searching for insects. It was my daughter who spotted the bird. Happily the bird allowed us close enough to take some reasonable photos with the camera hand held.

Good Morning Cristian!
Nice to have you as my neighbour, especially when you post such a fine close capture of the Eurasian treecreeper. The features are well shown with excellent sharpness and lighting that distinguish it from the Short-toed. The composition is is perfect on the mossy tree trunk.
Nice that your daughter spotted it and it is not that easy to photograph.
Well done and thanks,
Best wishes,
Ivan

Salut
destul de pasăre! In Polonia se numeşte Pełzacz.

Buna Cristian

Hi Cristian,

Excellent shot of this beautiful Eurasian treecreeper,a species I've never heard of before. Superb detail in the plumage, wonderful colours, and the f5.6 has isolated it from the background just enough to still show detail and colour in the tree, really nice work, all the best,

Cheers Rick :)

Hi Cristian,

Lovely photograph and an equally informative note. Must mention that the photograph and the note are so well in sync that after reading about longer hind toes, I could actually see it in the photograph. Beautiful clarity.

Regards,
Paromita

Hi Cristian, not easy to have a sharpenss like that in thsi terrible background whit the same colors of the bird! You manage very very well, excellent point of view and magic light. My best compliments, have a nice day,LUCIANO

Your tele-lens is really powerful and you have captured a sharp and crisp picture of a Tree Creeper with it, Cris.
The moss covered tree trunk gives the picture a very natural and authentic look.
Well done and TFS.

Salut

Cris

Hello Cristian!

Congratulations for this very interesting catch! Treecreepers are very cute small birds and very hard to capture. Perfect picture with well visible shades of brown colours, good POV and excellent details. I saw similiar bird few days ago but I took only one bad photo before it gone.

Hi Cristian. I have yet to capture a picture of a treecreeper. You have taken this one with a typical pose. Good detail in the featehrs and the tree bark. All with natural colours. well done TFS.
Nick..

Hi Cristian, a beautiful bird, trecreeper, with lovely pose. Perfectly captured by you with nice POV and excellent details.
TFS and cheers,
Bayram

Hi Cristian,

Very good shot with sharp focus on the bird and the bark. I like the light on the body and the shallow depth created by you here.

TFS and best regards,
Jusni

Bolto bella e dettagliata ripresa, certo non facile ottenere per questa specie sempre in movimento ed elusiva!

Ciao e grazie, Emanuele

Hello Cristian,
Sometimes I can see one of these treecreepers in my neighbourhood, but I never got a chance to take a good picture of this special bird. You managed to make a good picture, showing all the color-nuances of its fine plumage.
Very well done
Have a nice day
Anne
