hi TN friends !
I take this picture a few days ago , in a garden , when this beautiful bird looking for materials from his nest.

European Goldfinch(Carduelis carduelis)

It breeds across Europe, North Africa, and western and central Asia, in open, partially wooded lowlands. It is resident in the milder west of its range, but migrates from colder regions. It will also make local movements, even in the west, to escape bad weather. It has been introduced to many areas of the world (Snow and Perrins 1998).

The average Goldfinch is 12-13 cm long with a wingspan of 21-25 cm and a weight of 14 to 19 grams. The sexes are broadly similar, with a red face, black and white head, warm brown upperparts, white underparts with buff flanks and breast patches, and black and yellow wings. On closer inspection male Goldfinches can often be distinguished by a larger, darker red mask that extends just behind the eye. In females, the red face does not reach the eye. The ivory-coloured bill is long and pointed, and the tail is forked. Goldfinches in breeding condition have a white bill, with a greyish or blackish mark at the tip for the rest of the year. Juveniles have a plain head and a greyer back but are unmistakable due to the yellow wing stripe. Birds in central Asia (caniceps group) have a plain grey head behind the red face, lacking the black and white head pattern of European and western Asian birds.

Buna Septimiu
Bine ai revenit. O poza reusita, poate daca ajustai putin shadows/highlight levels era perfecta.

Hi Septimiu,

It's so nice to see you posting again!!! This Goldfinch with the nesting material in his beak is beautiful. This is a bird I don't get to see in Arizona. The colors are wonderful - I love the bright yellow steak. Good details of the face, eye, and feathers. A pretty background and a nice composition.

Hello Septimiu,
A nice capture of a Goldfinch that has found something caught in a spider's web to feed its young.
I like the pose that suits the POV taken with fine sharpness. However as the lighting has caused deep shading on the head and bird's belly I have tried the WS. I hope you don't mind.
Thanks for sharing this and best wishes,
Ivan

hi nemes,
very artistic background
i like the pose of the bird
maybe you should add more brightness in order not to miss "info" of the bird's belly

PS. since i am in trip to SE and E Anatolia (that i have not get time for internet), sorry for delaying in feedback.

Fine capture of a Goldfinch on a barbed wire fence, Nemes.
The light management is very good in this image with perfect details and colours on the bird.
The bokeh BG supports the subject in making it look distinct and sharp.
TFS and regards.

Hi Nemes,
lovely pose of the bird with beautiful colours. The lighting hit the head that it makes so lovely and pretty. The greyish blurry background makes this shot very contrast.

Foozi

Hi Nemes.
I like this species a lot and only recently took a nice picture of goldfinch. Your is very attractive. Pictured moment and scene at whole are very cute, Details of the bird image is ultimate and BG is smoothed nicely. However, image looks like over saturated and underexposed. TFS and warm greetings.
Alexei.
