Now it is very warm in my region. Temperatures are about 30C in the middle of the day and walking in the sun is tiresome. Therefore I decided to find, for my walk, a place with fresh cool air.
I went on the Cristianu Mare pick in Postavaru mountain. The altitude is about 1800m so I found reasonable temperatures and pleasant fresh air. Weather was very nice, sun was shining bright and only small clouds were traveling on the sky. All over there were small plants with strong colored flowers attracting insects.
Lots of butterflies were flying around. My sight was attracted by a Aglais urticae butterfly known as Small Tortoiseshell. It is a common butterfly in Europe, met as well in forests as in gardens. Due to it’s wonderful colors I am alloys happy to meet it. It was a pleasant surprise for me to find the butterfly at such an altitude so I did my best to do a reasonable photo. |

Hello Cristian,
I like the POV, sharpness and OOF natural BG in this shot. It is interesting to read that you took this at an altitude of 1800 meters.
I think the image might be better composed if you had the butterfly a little more to the left, but it is minor point.
Thanks for sharing this beauty,
Ivan
