In my journey home, after the Ceahlau Mountains, I went in another region:the Calimani National Park. This Mountains are higher (top 2100m) than Cheahlau and belongs to what in romanian geography is knonw as "volcanic mountain chain". From North to South, there are Gutai, Calimani, Gurghiu, Harghita Mountains. It is considered that long time ago, here were volcanic activities, conucted with the formation of the longest volcanic chain from Europe. In this vulcanic mountains is the only volcanic lake from Romania: Saint Ana Lake.
It is not a very good picture, the weather was not so ...good (it was a misture between rain and snow after i decided to go back), but is a kind of introduction for some picture that I want to show you later. |

We are neighbours on the gallery today, Oana, so I thought I must begin with my neighbour.
You have captured this formidable looking ridge leading to the summit of the mountain quite well. The gentle slope to the left looks atrractive with plenty greenery on the ground. The peak in the distance is covered in a haze as a result of the weather, I suppose.
The frame is well composed, though the immediate foreground has somehow turned out to be in soft focus.
Thanks and regards.

Hello Oana,
Though as you say, technically this is not the best, but the composition, colours and general impression to show this mountain ridge in the Calimani NP is very attractive.
There must be wonderful flowers and insects to photograph in this type of habitat.
Thanks for sharing this,
Regards,
Ivan
This is a wonderful area for butterflies. :))You are so lucky. We wait your pictures from this area.
Your name is so close to Anatolia. :))
Hi Oana,
nice to see the chain of mountains leading into the depth. Must be a wonderful place to hike on its gentle slopes and along the crest that seems to be offering endless views, and a sparse but beautiful mountain vegetation to study.
With thanks, and best regards,
Peter
