[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Hoopoe - Upupa epops - is a large spread bird in all the areas from my country. It is unmistakable with long courved bill and prominent black-tipped crest, either folded down or erected fan-weise.
I never had the opportunity to see and to do a photo with this bird, from a short distance.

Last Sunday I saw few Linnets in a place not far from my city, Tulcea. Because it was too much people and the light at noon, it was not possible to do an acceptable photo. So, this morning I went in the same place with the hope to see the Linnets again. Normal, no one Linnets came out in the area, but I saw a Hoopoe pecking in the grass here and there. It never stoped.
After a time it started to peck hard in the same place
very concentrated. It was the moment when I shortened the distance between us. The reason of its toil was a Mole Cricket - Gryllotalpa gryllotalpa. What a dinner!
