Hello Horia,
That's a cool portrait of a predator. They look so harmless and peaceful but in fact they are voracious killers :-)
Technically very good, composition also of top class!
Best greetings and TFS my Friend!

did you mean "Ischnura pumilio
" instead of "Ischura pumilio"?
I've just went googling and learnt it is very close and difficult to recognise from elegans. Almost cannibalism indeed.
I was wondering why is the prey so white. Do you think it just came out of its exovia, or is there any pale kind?
Shot itself is terrific and technically perfect.
Good note.

Hello Horia,
according to the size it could very well be an I. pumulio (at least the eaten one). I think it just met the big wide world and then realised she needed a tougher jacket. It's hard to be sure on the right ID.
What it particularly nice is the moment you captured. Pure nature, with eating and being eaten. Great one....

Hi Horia.
What a perfect shot of this dramatic scene. Great godsend for any photographer. You managed to use this situation perfectly. Both shots are perfect. In original shot I am impressed with nice clear and rich colour, razor sharpness and largest DOF. Shot is composed extremely well too. Bravo and my best wishes.

Hello Horia!
Great shot! I observed this kind of "interaction" between other Odonata species, but always it was dragonly-damselfy interaction.
Very nice close-up with good details and colour.
I also see that the "Guide" is really useful for you ;>

faina actiune.

Hello Horia,
This is strange... I didn't think that similar specie could have this behavior; nature always surprises me. This is a very nice macro with excellent details, beautiful lightning and composition. I like this DOF with great BG too. Your pictures is WS are often so interesting that they sometimes make me wonder which one I prefer ;) Thanks,

amazing macro-shot, horia! :-)
superb details and composition on the one d-fly eating the other.
looks like i have to go and visit the lakes in the area to see if the d-flies are flying around here, too.
i like the WS-shot even a little better as it shows both d-flies in whole.
well seen & captured, thor.

Hi Horia,
I am far from an expert on these animals, But I am sure that somebody will, or already has tell (told) you if you are correct or not. Anyway, the moment is really awesome. I didn't even knew that they would eat thier closely related cousins. A wonderful detailed photo where you knowledge of the area surely paid off.

Damsel heads are tricky, and in any photo is clearly seen if the focus & exposure are good or not. This one is clear and detailed, no doubth. Excellent subjects for a strong action shot. Lovely POV too. Thanks very much, MF.

Hello Horia,
Unique image, your lucky to portrait such moment; details and focus are very good as well as POv, only a bit overexposed the dead insect, but´s a minor problem.
best regards
