Hi Horia.
I welcome your desire to photograph and once more photograph. I understand you very well. I like your extreme use equipment (including tripod). Exposure parameters are amazing. It is clear that to get large DOF from short distance with wide angle zoom lens is so difficult. You have done all what is needs and you have got excellent shot. Perfect details and sharpness and very nice colours, impressive darks and light leave tips of the moss. My kind regards and TFS. Well job.

It is all to your honor to try to bring that kind of artistic art within your picture... You're right PDP's picture are wonderful! And this one deserves the same comment! I really like the vertical compo you use here... I like the opposition between the life moss and the "dead" leaf... The water on it brings life also to the picture!

Hello Horia,
Beautiful simple capture of this wet leaf resting on the mosses. It is similar to but still very different from Paul's capture. I like both very much. Good light and very sharp details of the leaf with droplets.

Hi Horia,
The funny thing is that the same photo inspired me to the more abstract photos as well. Maybe not in a consious way, but sub-consious I have always been looking for the perfect bed of moss and a oak leave. So far I've found plenty of moss, plenty of leaves but not the perfect one.
Yours is certainly wonderful. The water drops on the leave adds a wonderful touch to the entire photo. The patches of moss, the dark tones, the perfect DOF and the fine details all show a technical perfect photo. But the feel to the photo is even more important, if not the most important aspect of photography. And this photo has an awesome feeling.

Wonderful work and a wonderful dedication to a great person and great photographer.

Hi Horia,
This is nice, and yet there feels to me as if something is missing. In Paul's similar post the image is sharp throughout which would be the natural way the eye would see something close by. I think this is particularly important in the immediate foreground. His also has a red leaf on a green background. Those are complementary colors and therefore make each other stronger. In your image the leaf with its water drops is wonderfully sharp, but I feel it is kind of lost in a bed of mostly out of focus greenery. Your moss doesn't have the same strong repeating pattern as Paul's background. If this were my image I would want the leaf to make a stronger statement, and to do that I would crop out some of the OOF green. I tried a workshop. All this isn't as easy as it looks, is it? : )

Oh my gosh. It is how I started 6 plus months ago on TN...a simple start of a simple leaf, yet so...doggone it..I cannot think of the word...in Taoist terms..it simply is. And in Taoism, what is, is the birth of ten thousand things.!

Hello Horia,

Nice shot, and a nice piece of art. It's good to see people doing more than take pictures of beasts and landscapes, and it's a good way to learn about photography and to really understand about things like pov and dof and they're a critical part of what you're trying to achieve rather than simply being a consequence of taking a picture (where you're relying on luck more than enything else). This is an example of very good technique and a good picture is the result.

It's amazing the endless possibilities of photography!
I found so interesting and appealing this presentation.
The lonely leaf and the drops over it catch immediately the attention and drove the eye to it.
The presence of only one leaf breaks the uniformity of the green moss all around, and makes of it an interesting moment.
So good you post it and thanks for it.
