Horia!!! Now this is just excellent!
Man, this is my kind of photography :-) I just can't wait for the dragonflies to start appearing again!!
Stunning image.
The composition, POV, sharpness, DOF, detail, colours, lighting... everything is spot-on.
Those green eyes are very cool!
Exceptional work my friend.
Thanks very much for sharing this!
Cheers,
Joe

Hi Horia!
While you want to get rid of these pictures, we are delighted to discover them. But you are right: we all need to get and see new pictures, feel the excitement of discovering and capturing something new.
It's amazing how rich the details in this picture are and I believe that the subject justifies a centered composition. This also true because there's no other object that could attract our attention or lead the eye into the picture.
Kind regards
Markus

Hello Horia,
I was thrilled to bits when I managed to photograph this one as it is rarely seen here!
You've managed to get a excellent capture of it in flight!! Very fine sharp focus showing the details and beautiful colours of this lovely dragonfly. Well done!
Many thanks, Ulla

Buna Horia,
Extraordinara fotografie! Intr-adevar este o mare reusita sa fotografiezi o libelula in zbor si sa obtii aceasta calitate a imaginii. Nu are rost sa mai fac alte comentarii fotografia vorbeste de la sine.
Felicitari,
Cristian
Hello Horia,
Superb in-flight of A. isoceles.
This is very skillfully captured using your old S2 IS with fine sharpness and from a great POV. This species is rare in Sweden but Ulla has Photographed it near us and I hope it's my turn this year.
Thanks for sharing this inspiring image, my friend,
Ivan

Hi Horia,
A nice one from your archives. And considering this was your first in-flight of a dragonfly, it's really good. TFS
Have a nice weekend,

Hello Horia,
Excellent in flight dragonfly.
Photographing a dragonfly is difficult, let alone an in flight dragonfly.
Furthermore I want to underscore the blurred wings, the DOF and the background.
Well done, Horia.
Greetings

Hello Horia,
How did you capture this I need to learn. Dragonfly don't normally hover in a spot for long and almost impossible to get it in focus with a macro lens. Indeed this one here indulged your wish and allowed you the pleasure.
The sharpness and details throughout the body is very well observed which I find it hard to get them in clear sharpness even when perched. Good work Horia and please allow me to add this to my personal theme.
Well done and best regards,
Jusni

Hi Horia,
The frozen flight of the insect was great!
I like a lot the pose got on this difficult kind of shot.
The greens at the background works pretty well to contrast the earth tones on the insect's body.
Congratulations and thanks for share.
My best regards,
JM

You saved some nice archives Horia...If I had flying ones such as this, done so nicely I would have posted quickly...for it is next to impossible for me to keep up with them more or less to catch them in flight. It might take me days..pr perhaps I might get lucky...but this one is fine until I can try it..and I learn from you as well as many others every time I see images such as this.

Hello Horia
It is so hard to capture in flight shots of Dragonflys and I know how slow the AF can be on the s2.
But despite that you have pulled off a tip to tail shot..I have seen £3000 lenses produce less tight shots.
A truly great capture and one to be proud of.

Salut Horia,
Excelenta imaginea.

Hello Horia!
This is really splendid presentation! Flying Aeshan - a superb photo! Perfect DOF and details! You were very lucky (and patient!) to photograph it "in the air" ;)
I like also wokshop and link to the song!
All the best from Lodz!

PS. Any new observations of overwintering damselflies this year? ;)

Hello Horia !
I have always admired those people who are able to capture flying insects - when I try to do it, I always have a big blurred shape that barely looks like an insect ! :-) This is an excellent picutre, you have frozen the dragonfly very nicely. Excellent details, nice natural colors, wondeful composition and POV, splendid blurred BG... Very well done !
Valerie.

There's an helicopter flying over Malaysia... this is a beautiful picture, Horia, once more! The dragonfly is so sharp and I love the fact that you used a speed slow enough so we don't see its wings. This movement is great, we feel the flight of this insect. Thank you!

Hi Horia.
I cannot do it. And I am very pleased that you can do it. Bravo, my friend. Excellent in-flight dragonfly picture. I like wonderful diagonal position of the insect and great timing/sharpness of the image. WS is amazing too. It is a pity that you have shared it as a WS. MY greetings and TFS.
Alexei.
P.S. I am waiting for Sigma 70-300 pictures with great interest.
