Hello everybody

This is another shot from the same place as my last landscape post. Not much different than the one then, just that this was taken a few meters away and a bit earlier :) Still the same time - late February - and still looking westward.

I liked interesting curls that the reeds make here and also the nice reflection of the sun in the calm waters of this lake.

Hope you'll like it, too :)

Tech-talk: I used again both the polarizer and the Cokin ND Grad. P121M in order to balance the exposure. Shooting directly towards the sun implied that i wouldn't have too many details in the FG elements. However, this is pretty much how it was, even though i could have brought it up a little bit by dodging or shadows & highlights.

Hi Horio . Once again A very good sunset from the lake. wonderful warm colours . with good patterns in the clouds . As you say i think the reeds help to break up the picture . well done TFS.
Nick..

Hello Horia,

A very nice sunset. You did a great job not to use shadows& highlights in PS. I think the filter did the job for you. The colors are dramatic, but oh so beautiful. Specialy the FG (reed, including the water) are beautiful. The low standing sun just above the black trees, make this photo perfect. I like them very much. Good job. Best wishes and TFS BOB

Hi Horia,
Another fabulous landscape capture of your excellent photography. Soft vivid colours and reflections on the water surface with the rushy foreground mixed in a favor to the frame. Now I can listen a new age from Van Gelis:) to make a trip to nature. Thanks for sharing for this beauty.
Cheers,
Bayram

Buen formato Horia, y creo que se refleja bien la grandeza de la puesta y el paisaje, dando además una gran sensación de paz.
Saludos: J. Ignasi

Hallo Horia
This is a very nice sunset presented in an upright format. The reflections on the water surface are first class, especially the mirror image of the setting sun. Beautiful shot, nicely composed and excellent warm and glowing colours. The reeds in the foreground of the photo looks like the image of a roughly shaped lover's heart. Sunsets are always magic moments, and this one is no exception. Thanks for sharing.
Kind regards
Anna

Hello Horia,
The scene looks spectacular.
A nicely balanced image with super colors and contrasts.

Hello Horia
What a pretty sunset! Your horizon is very straight. The reeds in the foreground add nice textures. A lovely contrast between the water, sky and silhouette of the shore. Nicely composed Horia.

Hi Horia

Beautiful composition well planned and seen. Great DOF and colours.

James

I will email you tomorrow

Here is the deal...Mike Warnes sent me a copy of Digital Camera mag from England...it is TOTALLY different than anything done over here..It contains more information, more pictures...it allows for folks such as yourself to get your work published..and while I do see some like yours in there..and one who is a TN person as well..I think yours is just as high quality as any of the pros do..So keep it up! I'll do my part and keep on pushing you to do more....more...more...Your good..Don't waste that talent!
Bob
BTW I will send a NPPA (National Press Photographers Assc) Mag to anywhere in the world if folks want one. They are only available to news journalists and TV media..I have been a life long member...but you have to pay the 15 dollar postage:-) It cost me 16 to send the yearly issue to Mike...

I sure like it too, Horia, this is a very nice and beautiful picture. Those reeds are strange, they look like a beaver's barrier. And the lake is superb, the ground is flat too as usually there are hills and curves but here we see grass on the horizon, it is charming and peaceful. It makes a very nice composition with the tiny sun getting ready to set. I just had a smell of reeds and lakes, with the moisted soil smelling strange and fantastic at the same time. That means this is a great shot! Thanks Horia,

Francine

Hello my friend Horia,
This is a beautiful composition of sunset well deserved a big credit for it!
very good fg element with excellent exposure and focus in the shot
a very pleasing presentation with top quality!
very well done
Tony

Good morning Horia!

Before I start work, I allow myself a quick look at the gallery and I chose one picture to contemplate for a good start.

Guess which one I chose this morning...

Indeed, your sunset is a fine introduction to a new day: it's on one hand the perspective of a nice evening to come, on the other hand an apeasing and stress taking off contemplation.

From the technical point of view, as we are used to your pictures, this one is perfect, too. As you also say, the foreground is very interesting and a good leading element for the eyes to find the way into the picture.

Kind regards

Markus

Hi Horia,
another great landscape my friend! Good use of filters, perfect positioning of the sun and a lovely transition between the orange and blue...i've not seen a sunset like this for ages, all we have is grey grey grey...this weekend looks much the same too...
Thanks for sharing this, have a great weekend!
Paul

A good sunset scene captured expertly Horia, the reeds in the foreground create much depth within the frame. A weak bounce-fill flash reflected from a pinkish reflector towards the reeds might improve the composition, but where to find them in the middle of nowhere, eh?
Cheers,
Mehmet

Horia,
As usual, nothing but the best from you!!
Very vivid but soft colors, perfect exposure...another magical sunset!
Thank you for sharing!
Cheers!

Hi Horia
Another beautiful late winter sunset and another great peaceful blue and pink sky landscape in your gallery All the shots from these serie are great. Simplicity is sometimes the best thing. Good exposure, beautiful colors. Great mirror shot
Best wishes
Krzysztof

Hello Horia
My words are going to be a mix of mine and Bobs..Your landscapes are truly amazing and push me to when I get some early mornings before work to attempt to replicate a similar scene.
To me the whole scene is stunning, especially the sun reflecting in the margins in the midground of the picture...which to me should be the focal point.
The reeds in the foreground indeed to break up the scene and make a fantastic lead to the Sun and lake....But to me they consume to much of the picture..They are to central..perhaps if you were to have taken the scene in Landscape opposed to portrait style you would have been able to place then to the left or right of the scene?
Anyhow Horia...this is just my opinion as someone who has never pulled of a scene such as this!!
A good weekend to you Thara
Paul

Hola Horia.
Un paisaje encantador.
Hermoso tonos y delicada gradación muy bien captada por tí.
Un cordial saludo, JL.

Hi Horia,
Been quite busy this days...
You present us a very evocative image here, the simple horizon and the leaving sun.
It's so good the colour's gradient on the sky, you managed pretty well the double filters used on the tech side.
I think that the details level got on the elements at the foreground is quite enough, and bring it more details wouldn't have been necessary IMHO.
My compliments and thanks for share it.
Best regards,
JM

Hello Horia

A beautiful capture of this sunset upon the water.
The reflection looks like a small teardrop.
Wonderful colours and contrast. You have managed to use the existing lighting well.
The POV is very good, the mound of cattails is a nice touch.
There is a neat ring like effect around the sun with beautiful rays.

Hello Horia,
I like the diagonals created by the fine veil of clouds, and their mirrored reflections in the calm waters!
This is a well balanced composition where the elements work well together, and the dry grass in front creates this fine sense of depth...
A cool capture that would make a great poster!
Greetings,
Pablo -

Hi Horia,
Transform the moment into a very tranquil evening soothing one's senses.
The FG gives the real feel of the DoF.Sky has lit up beautifully and the position of the sun si quite refreshing.
Very well done.
TFS & Cheers

I like the light, colors and ambience of this image. l think I prefer the other one to this one because I like angles in the foreground better. The composition in this one is more static.

Hi Horia.
I like your approach to photography and numerous attempts with impressive results. I think both versions are very nice but this one has more rich colours palette. I do not know what of them is better and it is very good and it is a key result. My best wishes in spring photography.
Alexei.
P.S. Thanks for amazing comments and interesting thoughts. Now I pass a way from boundless hobby for flash to its delicate and effective use.

Hi Horia,
I think it's just beautiful mf.
Excellent use of this combination of filters to control the exposure.
Always tricky when shooting at the sun..Just don't fly too close :)
Very nice!
Howard

Horia,
I haven't been to your gallery lately, sorry too busy.
Thsi is a beautiful image as it is. I think sometimes people overdo the photo editing. The one who know what they're doing did a good job. Some just ruin a normal photo completely for me. Great job on this one with beautiful colors with great composition, it depicts an atmosphere of tranquility and peacefulness. Using the filter helps greatly in many cases for me as well.

Hi Horia, fascinating sunset with fantastic colors and splendid reflections, very well done, ciao Silvio

Hi Horia, great mood capture with a beautiful warm tone. The composition sits very well. Great work..
